What moves the price
Three things that change a number more than size does.
Principle 1
Access changes the price more than size
A flat lot with truck access and a steep lot where everything is carried in by hand take very different amounts of labor, even at the same size.
Principle 2
Base depth is not optional
Quotes that come in far under a fair estimate are usually cutting base depth or drainage. Both fail within a couple of winters.
Principle 3
Season affects availability, not rate
We do not surge-price in peak season. We do run out of build weeks, which is why design happens ahead of it.
About pricing
Why don’t you publish prices?
Slope, access, soil and permit path move the number too much for a range to mean anything before we’ve seen the site. A written, fixed-scope quote after a site visit is more accurate than any published range would be.
What is the minimum project?
We take design-build work from about $2,500. Below that, a small-job crew will serve you better and cost you less.
Do you charge for estimates?
Site visits and written quotes are free. [CONFIRM: is design billed separately and credited against the install?]
Do you offer financing?
[OWNER TO CONFIRM: offer financing, or answer “Not at this time.”]
Ready for a fixed number?
A free site visit, then a written scope with line items.
