What's different about this job
At higher elevations a pond or fountain needs a real winterization plan — plumbing drained or heated, pumps pulled or protected — and koi are a standing invitation to local wildlife. Neither rules it out; both change the build and the maintenance conversation before we quote it.
What is included
- Site and grade assessment for liner, plumbing and electrical runs
- Skimmer, biological filtration and pump sizing for the water volume
- Stone and boulder placement for a waterfall or stream feature
- Liner and underlayment sized with margin, not cut to the edge
- Lighting and electrical run coordinated with our lighting crew
Built for the site, not the showroom
A water feature lives or dies on filtration and grading, not the stone on top. We size the pump and biological filtration to the actual water volume, set the liner with margin instead of cutting it to the edge, and grade the surrounding site so runoff doesn’t undo the build in the first storm.
One crew for the whole feature
Waterfalls and ponds touch electrical, plumbing and hardscape at once. Because we run all three in-house, the lighting, the pump circuit and the stonework get planned together from the first site visit — not stitched together after three separate contractors each assumed someone else owned the gap.
Questions we hear
Pond, fountain, or waterfall — how do we decide?
It comes down to maintenance appetite and what the site can support. A fountain is the lowest-maintenance option; a koi pond is the highest. We walk the site and lay out the tradeoffs before you commit to one.
What does winterizing a water feature involve?
Depends on the build and the site. Some features run year-round with the right equipment; others need pumps pulled and plumbing drained before the first hard freeze. We cover this specifically for your site during the quote, not after installation.
